QET2 module for TAXI system now available

By Global Research Partners
Johannesburg, 08 Apr 2002

Controlware GmbH today announced the availability of the QET2 module for the TAXI system. The TAXI system is Controlware`s point-to-point solution for managed Access Backup services.

Customers using Frame Relay access lines in their WAN will be able to benefit from the advanced features offered by the new QET2 module. By securing the weakest link of the network, the Access line, the TAXI system with QET2 enables network reliability and therefore business continuity. It keeps the lines open.

The QET2 module allows users to actively monitor the quality of the Frame Relay traffic. As a result the availability of the Frame Relay services can be dynamically increased by continuously monitoring data quality, and when required, activating a backup path. The backup bandwidth can be defined based on the number or criteria, tailoring it to actual requirements based on SLA agreements. Backup bandwidth availability can be from 1:1 ratio to less than 1:1.

Network managers can now decide how much bandwidth is to be used for backup applications. Therefore, the network manager now has proactive control of the WAN-budget by being able to control the ISDN cost through backup bandwidth control. The obvious result is cost savings, as well as a rapid return on investment.
