QlikTech expands iPad's BI reach

The offering provides business users with anywhere, anytime access to live data and analytics, said the company.
It grabs and combines data from virtually anywhere, including the most complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management and then lets users take and shape that data any way they want.
QlikView also allows users to understand what's happening with their business as it happens, the company says, adding that it also offers the flexibility to instantly adapt analyses, data sources and visualisations.
“QlikView provides a customised format, tailored to individual needs, with a high level of security, no matter where people's business may be taking them,” says Mark Sands, QlikTech's regional director for Australia and New Zealand, notes ITWire.
Company officials claim QlikView can combine data from a variety of sources, ranging from ERP systems and data warehouses to Excel spreadsheets. It then allows users to interact with it as they see fit, rather than relying on predefined views.
According to V3.co.uk, QlikTech says the iPad application has a touch-driven interface, supports all familiar iPad gestures and automatically switches from portrait to landscape as the tablet is moved around.
QlikView for iPad is HTML5-based and delivered through Apple's Safari Web browser, boosting security and manageability, the firm said.
