QlikTech intros BI for Android
QlikTech's Windows-based business intelligence (BI) software now delivers a way to consume information, dashboards and reports via mobile phones running Google's mobile phone operating system, Android, writes ITJungle.
The company says the new client gives users access to "fully interactive drill-down" functionality, as opposed to accessing static reports. This allows users to explore data as they would from a standard Web- or Windows-based interface.
QlikView for Android is the "first native BI app for the Android platform", claims the company. The software, which was developed in partnership with the Swedish company The Astonishing Tribe, runs across all Android phones.
PivotLink intros analytic apps
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) BI vendor PivotLink has introduced pre-built analytic apps for sales, marketing and human capital management, reports InformationWeek.
PivotLink's ReadiMetrix applications are designed to work with other SaaS environments. The sales app, for example, is pre-integrated with the standard and customer data models used by Salesforce.com.
The marketing app works with SaaS apps from Marketo. The HR app is designed for the Workday SaaS-based ERP data model.
Avis saves with predictive analytics
Avis Europe has reduced marketing costs and improved efficiency in the department following the implementation of predictive analytics software, states Computing.co.uk.
The IBM-supplied system analyses the history of clicks on marketing e-mails and customer transactional behaviour, thus enabling the customisation of content and a targeting strategy for online marketing.
By gaining intelligence about its client base through the new platform, Avis can also segment its customer base of around 880 000 people more effectively, better predict interests and improve service as well as retention.
