QPR ProcessAnalyzer has won the Quality Innovation Award 2012 in the SME category. The petition organised by the Finnish Quality Association assesses nominees based on innovativeness and quality. QPR ProcessAnalyzer, developed by QPR Software, is an Automated Business Process Discovery (ABPD) software product that enables organisations to use the data in their business support systems for process development and improvement. QPR ProcessAnalyzer follows the track of last year's winner Angry Birds, developed by Rovio Entertainment.
QPR ProcessAnalyzer provides the exact 'as-is' process flowchart for analysis and development of business processes with minimal deployment time. The software product implements existing business intelligence tools by bringing the process viewpoint to the analysis. Furthermore, it brings speed by automation to the more traditional process development methods of workshops and interviews.
"The Quality Innovation Award 2012 is a great honour and gives recognition to our product development. The award criteria of innovativeness and quality have both been at the core of our work when building a software product to the highly competitive international markets," says Jari Jaakkola, CEO of QPR Software.
The fact that QPR Software is already now able to provide a robust commercial product to a category, which has been recognised by the main analyst houses only a few years ago, is a clear testimony of the innovativeness of QPR ProcessAnalyzer. According to Gartner, ABPD is a growing trend and is estimated to reach mainstream adoption in five to 10 years. Bloor Research, however, says organisations have been looking for this for a long time. Forrester Research has also added automated process discovery as a new evaluation criteria to its Magic Quadrant for Business Process Management Suites.
"Automated Business Process Discovery does exist outside the analyst reports. This is demonstrated by our almost 100 commercial customer projects in Finland, as well as signed partnership agreements for international resale rights of QPR ProcessAnalyzer," Jaakkola continues.
The quality of QPR ProcessAnalyzer is based on customer centricity in addition to the ability to use and apply the analysis results across organisations. For IT system development, the product documents system use cases, and for internal audit as well as quality and risk management purposes, the product shows process variations linked with the root causes. Operational development is supported by enabling easy identification of process development areas and bottlenecks as well as re-planning of resource usage. The product can also be applied to enterprise architecture initiatives for its ability to give the 'as-is' status of processes.
"As opposed to the traditional, work station-based analysis software, QPR ProcessAnalyzer, being cloud-based, is fast, reliable and easy to use. The analysis can be made from different angles and the results can be shared within the organisation," says Jaakko Riihinen, SVP of Products and Technology at QPR.
To make the source data driven analysis even faster, QPR Software has developed ready integrations to, eg, Salesforce and SAP, the leading CRM and ERP systems respectively.
The goal of the Finnish Quality Association-led Quality Innovation of the Year petition is to drive the quality and number of Finnish innovations. The 2012 petition received 127 nominations.
