CareerWeb, SA's leading ICT job Web site, now offers clients and job seekers the opportunity to scan the QR bar code on CVs and jobs, and store the information directly on their smartphones or tablets.
Job seekers can quickly scan jobs they are interested in and save them to their smartphones or tablets, to view or apply for at a later stage. Similarly, clients can scan QR codes on CVs to quickly store candidates' information, and revisit these when it's more convenient.
“The QR bar code was introduced to our jobs and CVs to allow job seekers and clients to quickly scan and store the information on their smartphones, so they can engage with the data when it is convenient for them to do so,” says Ernie Hipner, business development director of recruitment for CareerWeb.
“Fourteen million Americans scan QR codes every month, so they can engage with the info on their smartphones or tablets when it suits them. We felt this would be an ideal benefit to job seekers and clients who are pressed for time, but still want to utilise the information they are interested in on the Web site,” adds Hipner.
“More and more people are using their mobile devices or tablets, so we need to cater for this growing medium and find unique ways of doing so,” he explains.
“The ITWeb/CareerWeb technical team introduced the QR bar code with the intention of providing our users with a solution for quickly storing information on their smartphones or tablets, by simply scanning the bar code,” adds Hipner.
Users can immediately begin using the QR bar code available on jobs and CVs.
