Quartet Solutions has positioned itself as a prime SAP partner prior to the announcement of the company's BEE strategy. According to marketing director Paul Bouchier, the company's threefold offering of consulting, training and support will place it at the forefront of local SAP partners.
"When we announce our BEE strategy, Quartet's makeup will be complete," he says. "Customers will benefit, SAP Africa will benefit and the public sector will benefit."
SAP Africa's Partner programme offers partnership opportunities in partner categories. Depending on the category, a company can become an SAP partner on a global or local level, as well as at Alliance level for partnerships of strategic nature. SAP Africa accredits partners only at a local level while global partnerships are developed through the Global Partner Management team.
Companies can collaborate with SAP Africa in a number of ways: Service Partners support SAP customers with consulting services for implementation of SAP products and the integration with existing systems, optimisation of the business processes in operation, and strategic e-business consulting.
Special Expertise partners offer niche skills in a specific SAP solution. "Quartet became a Resource Partner in 1997," says Bouchier. "In 2000 we were recognised as an official training partner and last year we became a Service Partner.
Quartet can offer the three arms of any SAP implementation - training, consulting and support - to customers. Our training offering includes project and end-user training as well as industry standard tools such as SAPTutor, Bridge and Resite. On the consulting side we perform upgrades, CBI, training plans and business process analysis. Many consultancies have these tools and services but few have the training expertise as well, and we believe we are the only provider with a support arm as well. Once our BEE strategy is finalised we will be in a unique position in the South African market.
Quartet has offices in Ireland, SA, US and UK, and also serves clients in many other countries including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and recently North America. 65 people are employed globally together with over 85 consulting contractors.
