The acquisition of private software company Aelita Software by Quest Software, a leading provider of application and Microsoft infrastructure management solutions, is set to boost the South African Microsoft customer base.
That`s according to Martyn Healy, MD of local Quest Representative Blue Turtle Technologies, who says the acquisition will provide the company with a broader and deeper set of solutions to assist with its customer-facing efforts.
"Together, Quest and Aelita plan to deliver a comprehensive set of product solutions that enables their customers to manage today`s complex Microsoft infrastructures throughout their entire lifecycle," Healy says. "The combined product offering will deliver the robust solutions customers require to better administer, migrate, consolidate, recover and audit their Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange environments."
Vinny Smith, chairman and CEO of Quest Software, says customers want products that simplify, automate and secure their Active Directory and Exchange environment as they become integrated within the fabric of the IT environment. The planned acquisition of Aelita will enable Quest to leverage broad synergies in both technology and development resources to deliver the comprehensive solutions set its customers need to feel confident in the reliability and availability of their Microsoft systems.
"This is great news for our customers and endorses Quest`s position as the pre-eminent provider of management systems for the Microsoft platform," says Healy.
Ratmir Timashev, president and CEO of Aelita Software, believes the agreement is a logical move for both companies. "We share the common goal of helping customers solve complex problems for better Active Directory and Exchange management," he says.
