Quintica, Venture form joint venture company

Johannesburg, 24 Feb 2006

Leading IT service providers, Venture Communications and Quintica Group, have formed a joint venture company called Q-Venture that is set to greatly impact the African service management marketplace.

Venture, an IT and telecommunications systems and services integrator with offices in nine countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe, and Quintica, a professional service management organisation with offices in the UK, Middle East and South Africa, will join forces to bring important service management skills to Venture's customer base throughout the African continent.

"With the establishment of the joint venture company we have immediate presence in South, Southern, East, West and Central Africa. Coupled with Venture's client base's huge demand for service management best practice processes and tools, Q-Venture just makes so much sense," comments Charles Osburn, CEO of Quintica Group.

He further adds that the African service management market is not only experiencing a rapid growth cycle but also demanding that this expansion is based on business practices that are sound, sustainable and auditable and not just "pushing numbers".

"We will also be focusing Q-Venture's future efforts on the continuous growth and upskilling of the various countries' indigenous people."

Comments Keith Boyd, MD of Venture Communications Group: "Our experience with growing multinationals in Africa over the last four years has convinced us that service management best practices - supporting corporate governance across multiple international boundaries - are critical.

"Add the complexities of different cultures, company and taxation laws, disparate shareholders, and a lack of formal sector skills, and you realise that service management and measurement across every level of the business is the key to long-term success.

"Venture Communications has been involved in the ongoing rapid growth in the communications and finance sectors on the continent and have subsequently identified a number of key areas where these best practices, processes and supporting systems will make the difference between success and failure.

"Additionally, the Q-Venture partnership immediately provides us with access to skills from the leading service management company in Africa," concludes Boyd.
