Raising the ceiling in projection performance

Johannesburg, 26 Feb 2003

NPC (Electronics) Limited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Panasonic and Technics products in SA, continues to raise the ceiling in projection performance - this time with the introduction to the South African market of the Panasonic PT-L6510 projector.

An enhanced version of its predecessor, the PT-L6500, the new model incorporates Panasonic`s highly acclaimed BriteOptic Dual Lamp system. This revolutionary system delivers superb brightness (4200 ANSI lumens), high contrast and faithful colour reproduction - collectively ensuring brilliant projected images.

Now symmetrical in design, the lens of the PT-L6510 is directly in the centre of the unit, making it easier to position the projector relative to the screen. This feature, together with one-touch auto set-up and digital keystone correction, facilitates optimal viewing quality without requiring any manual adjustment. In fact, the new model automatically identifies the input source and adjusts the image accordingly. No mean feat, considering that the PT-L6510 is equipped with a full range of connection terminals, including two RGB inputs; one each RGB monitor output, S-Video input, video input, USB input/output and serial input/output; and DVI-D IN and DVI-D OUT digital visual interfaces.

"Offering true XGA (1 024 x 768) resolution, the PT-L6510 is capable of displaying detailed computer graphics and text," says Ben Hunt, director: Panasonic Office Automation, IT and Telecommunications Systems. "It accommodates other types of images by expanding or compressing the signals through a sophisticated digital processing system. The unit also features advanced Digital Cinema Reality circuitry, which provides progressive procession optimised for a 24-frames/second moving picture source to deliver high quality reproduction that is extremely faithful to the original cinema source."

Inherently easy to install, the PT-L6510 can be ceiling mounted using customised ceiling mount brackets. The unit can also be stacked for double brightness (up to 8400 ANSI lumens), using a stackable mount bracket for permanent stacked installations or a simpler arrangement for temporary stacking purposes.

"The PT-L6510 offers the quality and performance required in most applications," continues Hunt. "It`s ideal for meeting rooms, theatres, museums, convention halls, public places and schools. The exceptional detail and accuracy facilitated by the unit`s DVI input capability makes it equally well suited for use as main systems for monitoring traffic or utilities providers, not to mention operating centres for emergency services such as the police, fire brigade and emergency medical response vehicles."
