Rally Software to acquire Agile Advantage

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Agile Advantage makes software that helps organisations track the return on investment of agile software methodologies. Features from the company's Performer product will be integrated into Rally's existing Portfolio Manager tool.

According to Virtual Strategy Magazine, Gartner recently named Agile Advantage a 'Cool Vendor' in its 16 April, 2012 report entitled “Cool Vendors in Program and Portfolio Management, 2012.”

This designation is based on evaluation of emerging vendors whose technology is considered innovative, impactful and intriguing.

Rally CEO Tim Miller says his company has partnered with Agile Advantage on some of its larger accounts, Tech Crunch says.

“We've been in close collaboration with them in building their product, so it was a natural step for us to bring them in-house,” he concludes.
