RangeGate launches new mobile enterprise solution suite

Mobile business solutions specialist RangeGate has repackaged its offerings to make it easier for customers to understand the value of mobile solutions for the enterprise.

RangeGate focuses on leveraging mobile technologies to give its customers a competitive edge. The new Mobile-Edge solution suite makes it easier for RangeGate`s customers to take advantage of the anywhere, anytime, real-time capability of wireless technology to optimise their business processes and improve their bottom line says Fred Hoare, director of professional services at RangeGate.

"Mobile is one of the few high-tech domains that still delivers the competitive-edge that enables businesses to differentiate themselves in an increasingly sophisticated marketplace," says Hoare. "We are excited to be launching a suite of products aimed directly at leveraging this differentiating power to extend and enhance the operations of our customers."

RangeGate`s Mobile-Edge suite consists of a number of complementary mobile enterprise solutions which collectively mobilise the most important business processes within the enterprise and across the supply chain. Mobile-Edge solutions enable businesses to wirelessly access and generate orders, invoices, sales and stock records, e-mails, proof-of-delivery notes, picking and putting-away information, location data and crucial workflow rules.

Hoare says every solution in the Mobile-Edge suite is a total solution, offering not just a crucial mobile enterprise application, but all the necessary business process consulting, system analysis and design, project management, mobile hardware, additional software customisation, system integration, support and maintenance. All solutions within the Mobile-Edge suite are based on a common software platform - RangeGate`s in-house developed mobile application toolkit, Mat-Gate.

In the past RangeGate`s customer solutions tended to be tailor-made and delivered via turnkey projects. "By contrast, Mobile-Edge now encapsulates our software and services in repeatable, cost-effective packages, enabling us to leverage economies of scale and experience to meet the mobile needs of pre-identified enterprise processes such as warehousing, logistics, field service and sales, and so on. Moreover, because each of our solutions has been designed to recognisably address a standard mobile function within the enterprise, our solutions now better target our real customers," says Hoare.

* Network-Edge - wireless LANs and WANs for mobile business environments.

* Turnkey-Edge - custom mobile application development and integration services.
