DataTec company RangeGate is to spotlight the value mobile technologies such as GPRS and 802.11 offer logistics companies at the Cape Futurex exhibition in Cape Town, from 29 September to 1 October.
Mobile technology users in supply chain and service operations can gain complete warehouse control, electronic proof of delivery, in-store fulfilment and field service enablement through the deployment of these and related technologies.
"The exhibition is a good platform for highlighting our offering and the benefits companies can derive from deploying mobile logistics and supply chain solutions," says Rudi Martin, account manager at RangeGate`s Cape office.
"Mobile technologies, such as those we offer, allow organisations to take advantage of real-time data capture to optimise their business processes and accelerate the return on investment of back-end systems."
For instance, warehouse workload management and control systems, and the resultant improvement in the accuracy of information collected, help to reduce stock levels by as much as 20% in large warehousing environments, as long as they are tightly integrated with back-end ERP systems.
RangeGate`s MOBILE-EDGE solutions provide supply chain execution spanning manufacturing, warehouse control, electronic proof of delivery, in-store fulfilment and field service. The software is packaged, configurable and functionally rich, with a strong integration capability, including SAP R/3 certification.
"Based on resilient, scalable mobile middleware architecture, the complementary suite of products offers a solution roadmap to extend the benefit of enterprise mobile computing into other areas of business. We also regularly conduct research and gather customer feedback to develop our products and ensure they continue to meet customers` needs," says Mark Lilje, MD of RangeGate.
The company was recently named the Most Admired Solutions Provider for the Mobile category in an independent survey of 150 companies in southern Africa.
