Rapid adoption of BI software poses nice problem for Alchemex

Johannesburg, 23 Jul 2008

Alchemex, the leading South African business intelligence software vendor for SMEs, has announced the outsourcing of its services division as a result of rampant adoption of its popular business intelligence software and related services.

"This is a bold and exciting move for us and already many of our business partners have responded very favourably," says Charles Teversham, Sales Director at Alchemex (Pty) Ltd.

Alchemex technology currently services over 10 000 customers across different install bases, both in South Africa and abroad and Teversham explains: "We reached the point where it was neither viable nor sustainable for us to properly address the growing demand for services.

"The rapid expansion of companies using our technology has exceeded our expectations and has reached a critical point in terms of servicing customers that every software vendor hopes to achieve. It's a nice problem to have and forced our hand to switch our model to focus on enabling our channel partners to service end-user customers while we focus on innovation and enablement as a pure software vendor."

Many of Alchemex's resources have now been channelled into enabling partners with the right skills to add significant value to customers and end-users. "Our priority is to make sure that our customers and partners are not compromised at any stage during this transition. It is fantastic to see how many of our partners have responded positively to being skilled up further to service the SME business intelligence market. Even more encouraging is the number of new partners that have recently come on board to acquire the relevant skills in this huge growth area of the SME market," says Teversham.

"We are driving value out to our channel partners," continues newly appointed International Skills Development Manager for Alchemex, Gael Rowland. "Our key account managers are the front line of our focus on skills development and accreditation of selected partners that we believe will properly represent the values of our brand."

Alchemex has also adopted thinking way ahead of the curve when addressing what is traditionally a classic software vendor challenge by completely embracing the skills development capabilities that the World Wide Web has to offer. Rowland explains: "Our enablement challenge is greatly simplified by our online enablement infrastructure which allows us to reach into even the most distant geographic territories very easily and affordably. The growth in skills, and desire by our users to share information, is probably best reflected in the growing online community of subscribers to our forum (www.alchemex-forum.com)."

It appears that Alchemex is now very well positioned to scale up its enablement initiative as the rapid adoption of Alchemex software gathers momentum worldwide.
