Raritan Computer Inc. - a leading provider of solutions for managing IT infrastructure equipment and the mission-critical applications and services that run on it - today announced that Thomas M. Swift has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer(COO) of the company. Swift will continue to report to Dr. Ching-I Hsu, who is now Chairman and CEO of Raritan.
Swift, who joined Raritan Computer two years ago as COO, will have the added responsibility of the office of President and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Raritan`s global operations. As Chairman and CEO, Hsu will focus on setting long-term strategy for the company that he and his wife started 20 years ago -- when he developed the worlds very first KV (keyboard, video) switch and, as a result, defined a new industry.
"I am very pleased to announce Toms promotion. In his dual capacity of President and COO, Tom effectively bears the entire authority and responsibility for our companys execution," said Hsu. "Tom has been a driving force in helping the company achieve exceptional growth and expansion, and in broadening our capabilities to provide data center customers with the industrys best IT infrastructure management solutions. Under his leadership, we are now in the enviable position of experiencing annual revenue growth rates far in excess of industry averages."
"It is an honor to have been selected for this position by Ching-I, who is a visionary, a highly successful entrepreneur, and someone whom I deeply admire for his integrity and his concern for people," said Swift. "I look forward to helping Raritan continue to prosper and to further solidify its leadership position." Swift has broad experience leading high-tech organizations in the areas of networking hardware, software, and services. Prior to joining Raritan, he was Vice President of Lucent`s Worldwide Services unit. Career milestones at Lucent included leading the integration of International Network Services into the company`s corporate infrastructure, and growing a startup professional services business to over $100 million in annual revenues. During his 16 years at AT&T, he held a variety of line and staff positions in AT&T`s software, services, transmission systems, and computer business units.
Swift holds a B.S.E. from Princeton University and two Master`s degrees - an M.S. in applied mechanics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
