Rational Software, the e-development company represented locally by CCH Software Development, has announced an e-development solution designed to help software engineers deploy complex e-business applications.
The solution, which features the IBM IntelliStation E Pro workstation preloaded and preconfigured with Rational Suite Enterprise software, will allow members of a development team, including engineers, developers, analysts and project managers, to build e-development applications more quickly than is currently the case.
The IBM-Rational solution will simplify the way development teams deploy and support the development of e-business software. Since the software is preloaded and pretested, users are up and running quickly - a benefit that is critical for customers such as Web start-ups which need to create, change and deploy e-business applications at great speed.

With Rational Suite Enterprise on the IBM IntelliStation workstation, software teams can perform vital tasks including requirements management; business, data, and Web modelling; defect and change tracking; and automated unit and system testing.
The IBM workstation comes fully equipped with integrated network and system management tools, which can lower the total cost of ownership, improve manageability and security, and cut administration headaches. System management tools are ideal for dot-com companies, allowing them to disperse software tools among their rapidly expanding workforce, resulting in faster time to market and cost savings.
Configuration
The IBM IntelliStation E Pro has an Intel Pentium III processor running at 933MHz, 256MB RAM and a Matrox Millennium G400 graphics adapter. It includes an Intel 820 core logic chipset with 4X AGP and 133 MHz front side bus, IBM designed system board and BIOS, 256MB of PC700 RAMBUS ECC memory, ATA/66 15GB IDE (7 200 RPM) hard disk drive; two USB ports, 10/1000 Ethernet, and Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0 installed, Service Pack 5. The IntelliStation workstation has been fully tested and tuned for exceptional performance with Rational Suite Enterprise, designed to provide productivity with reliable power.
IBM has already teamed with Rational to integrate its software suite with the tools, architecture, infrastructure and servers in IBM`s WebSphere software platform. By integrating with WebSphere along with the VisualAge family of application tools, Rational Suite streamlines the application development processes and reduces development cycles.
