RDB Consulting awarded Oracle Platinum Partner status

RDB Consulting, an ICT outsource and consulting company, has recently been awarded Platinum Partner Status from Oracle, the highest level of partnership in the Oracle Partner Network. This serves as recognition of RDB Consulting's depth of expertise and commitment to its areas of specialisation in Oracle solutions.

In order to qualify for Platinum Partner Status, a partner must specialise in a minimum of five areas within the Oracle solutions offering. They must also have Oracle certified employees, reference sites and a revenue influence, either from selling or referring customers to Oracle.

RDB Consulting's Oracle specialisation areas include enterprise resource planning, business intelligence, operating system, infrastructure monitoring and alerting with a prime focus on database administration.

Jaroslav Cerny, CEO of RDB Consulting, has worked for Oracle on three different continents as an employee and contractor and has personally worked with Oracle software for over two decades. Over this time he formed what he calls a 'mutually beneficial' relationship with Oracle. Cerny explains: "I've always had a good working relationship with Oracle over the years.

They made their help and advice readily available to me, and when they required our expertise at one of their clients, we provided it with short notice. I firmly believe in Oracle software, the partnership is part of our strategic direction to align ourselves with best-of-breed solutions. Being awarded Platinum Partner status enhances our credentials and visibility as a provider of Oracle solutions, serving as a 'stamp of approval' to customers."

The Oracle Partner Network, which categorises partners into Silver, Gold and Platinum status, provides Oracle with an up-to-date database allowing for easy identification of the most qualified and appropriate partner for joint opportunities. It also enables top Oracle solution providers to differentiate themselves in the marketplace and strengthens the relationship between Oracle and its partners.

Says Ike Ngwena, Alliance and Channel Director, Oracle SA: "We value our relationship with high-performing, long-standing partners such as RDB Consulting. The Oracle Partner Network is a means for us to provide our customers with suitable partners for the implementation and support of our products. For this reason, we place great emphasis on the selection process and re-evaluate partners on an annual basis, ensuring they maintain the high standards that make our endorsement credible. Attaining Platinum Partner Status requires an extremely high level of dedication and expertise in Oracle's solutions and a proven track record - and RDB Consulting meets these requirements. We are pleased to have them on board as a Platinum Partner."

Sales staff and customers have access to the database of partners, and partners are exposed to opportunities with customers through their elevated profile. Platinum partners are given highest priority on the Solutions Catalogue. Further benefits include access to Oracle's online support knowledge base, discounts on training, a dedicated partner business consultant, and access to market development funds. Platinum partners also receive 100 free Oracle Support service requests (SRs) for Oracle technology and applications products, and 200 free SRs for Oracle Enterprise Linux.

Oracle is the largest business software company in the world. It has more than 345 000 customers, spanning 145 countries across the world.
