Sybase, a SAP company and enterprise and mobile software specialist, has been voted Best Complex Event Processing Solution Provider and Best Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Systems Provider by WatersTechnology readers.
Sybase received the highest percentage of readers' votes to win the EDM category for the third year in a row.
“The recognition was part of the 2010 Waters Rankings, which is an industry-respected award where the winners are chosen by the qualified readers of Incisive Media's WatersTechnology, a financial IT publication with a circulation of over 10 000,” says Rudi Leibbrandt, practice manager at Sybase South Africa.

Along with Sybase's Waters Rankings 2010 win for best complex event processing (CEP) offering, Sybase RAP - The Trading Edition also won this year's best enterprise data management system. Sybase RAP processes market data and stores multiple years' worth of data for greater accuracy in risk analysis, trading strategy development, and execution.
The system is designed to meet challenges caused by exponential growth of market data volumes and market data velocity, as well as real-time detection of opportunities and threats. In addition, another contributing factor in Sybase's win as best enterprise data management system was certification of SunGard's Front Arena global capital markets solution with Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 15 (ASE 15) to speed up transaction processing for customers, yielding up to a 400% increase in processing speeds.
