Rebtel releases Android tablet app
WiFi and 3G/4G, respectively - straight from their smart mobile devices, Android Authority reports.
And the company, which describes itself as the “world's largest mobile VOIP company after Skype”, announced the launch of its Rebtel 2.0 Android app that's now customised to support Android tablets.
Rebtel is confident that Android tablets will “see significant increases in the next five years”, and therefore, its mobile product specifically optimised for Android tablet use will “benefit millions of users who are looking to offset costly international calling rates associated with their traditional service providers”.
The company's announcement of Rebtel 2.0 for Android tablets coincides with recent projections by research firm IDC that the Android tablet market share will experience major increases in Q2 2012, as distributors roll out Android tablet devices at lower costs, PR Web writes.
Display Research recently released similar research, stating that tablet shipments are projected to grow from 81.6 million in 2011 to 429.9 million in 2017.
Andreas Bernstrom, CEO at Rebtel, said: “The introduction of Rebtel 2.0 for Android phones last December helped to drive a 96.2% approval rating from our customers, and we expect this will have a similar result in satisfying the needs of our customers and the growing demand for true cross-platform interoperability across all our products.”
