Recession drives HR outsourcing
In-house human resources (HR) staff may quake at the notion of hiring outside help to handle a share of their work. After all, outsourcing looks like one more step toward layoffs, particularly at a time when the economy is slow and everyone is trying to clamp down on costs, writes Central Penn Business Journal.
But when it comes to HR, outside consultants say their goal is to supplement internal staff rather than replace them.
After offloading some of the regulatory and administrative burden, in-house HR professionals can focus on the parts of their job an outsider can't do, such as recruiting employees and making sure they are trained to advance their companies' business goals.
ADP buys HRinterax
ADP, a provider of HR, payroll and benefits administration services, has purchased HRinterax, says CNNMoney.
This is an HR content and support services company focused on the small business market.
"Small companies are more time-stressed than ever, and need to use their own resources as flexibly and efficiently as possible," said Mark Benjamin, SVP of service and operations for ADP's small business services division.
College implements HR, payroll system
Cornish college has signed a seven-year deal with NorthgateArinso to implement ResourceLink Aurora, its Web-enabled HR and payroll solution, states Public Technology.
Prompted by changes with its current bureau service and the desire to achieve an integrated HR and payroll solution, the college has chosen the ResourceLink Aurora solution to provide a more efficient and flexible back office service for HR and payroll.
The overall strategy is to deliver a more joined-up service for employees, supporting their day-to-day activities, with an emphasis on empowering team leaders and staff across the college to concentrate on the key issue of supporting students.
