Tailor-made software solutions provider DVT Gauteng has recorded a second year of 300% growth since opening for business in 2004. With DVT Cape Town achieving an average 30% growth over the last two years, the group has more than doubled its size, revenue and client base.
The growth is due to the company`s success in providing professional software development services to large corporate clients, buoyant market conditions, a resurgence of custom software development projects, the continued development of the home-grown Radical software solution, and an increase in sales of Metastorm`s business process management (BPM) software.
"Another reason for our achievements is the successful business model we apply," says Derek Hughes, CEO of DVT Gauteng. "With this model, we have managed to grow consistently over the past seven years while the market as a whole has stagnated or even contracted. To boot, we are supported by high-quality people who reinforce the already strong services we present to market."
The DVT group reduces risk traditionally associated with software by presenting fixed-price tailor-made solutions matched exactly to client specifications, Hughes adds.
The company`s focus remains on boutique services; avoiding unnecessary diversification; investing heavily in the creation and management of strong customer relationships; and devoting resources to continued research and development of its own intellectual property.
"To maintain a high growth rate, our strategy will be to continue the current focus while being progressive, flexible and open to the addition of new services and products," Hughes continues. "Our growth target for 2006 is 100% in Gauteng and over 30% countrywide, a mark achievable because the factors that have driven our success to date remain in place."
The group has recently achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status, providing the impetus to drive additional software development on the Microsoft platform. Plans are under way to release a new software solution to complement existing offerings during the year.
DVT currently employs nearly 100 people and has a client base in excess of 100 medium to large organisations across South Africa, with an annual repeat business rate of 80%.
