South African distributor, Rectron has been appointed the exclusive local distributor for Transcend Information`s range of products that include proprietary and standard memory offerings.
With its headquarters in Taiwan and subsidiaries around the world, Transcend is one of the world`s leading memory and peripherals manufacturers.
"Transcend offers high-quality products that are exceptionally well priced; these are key attributes considering the current economic climate," comments Mark Lu, CEO of Rectron.
He adds that Rectron has already had some really positive feedback from the channel on Transcend`s offerings.
Transcend`s latest JetFlash product, for example, offers users multiple functionality as it combines a USB Flash Drive with MP3, AB repeat, and voice recording functions.
The company`s recently released 45X CompactFlash memory cards offer capacities of 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB.
"Flash memory cards are becoming increasingly popular as many devices such as MP3s and cameras use them. Now resellers can offer flash memory cards that are available in all the key memory technologies such as SmartMedia, Memory Stick, xD-Picture Card and CompactFlash - at affordable pricing."
Rectron will also distribute other Transcend offerings, including LCD products, digital frame and personal video players, RAID offerings and graphics cards.
