Rectron distributes latest Toshiba MT400 wide-screen projector

Johannesburg, 05 Oct 2005

South African distributor Rectron has announced the immediate availability of Toshiba`s latest addition to its wide-screen video projector range, the MT400.

With its 16:9 format and 1 024 x 576 pixel resolution, it offers high-quality and detailed viewing pleasure in original cinema format. In addition, the MT400 uses de-interlacing technology to convert half-frames into a true complete picture, thereby ensuring a flicker-free cinema experience.

Incorporating the company`s DLP technology, the projector supports a contrast ratio of 3.000:1, which guarantees sharp images. Additionally, vibrant colour is produced by a six-segment colour wheel.

"This high resolution video projector is ideal for transforming any home into a cinema - the 1 024 x 576 pixel resolution produces detail-rich images while the 576 vertical pixels allows the MT400 to directly display an image line for line without adjusting the image size," comments Andr'e Rossouw, Toshiba product manager at Rectron.

The MT400 features functional yet attractive design: the intelligently arranged connections conceal all cables at the back of the projector and it has connectors for a variety of data carriers such as notebooks, DVD players or VCRs. In addition to an RGB input and three video inputs (RCA Component, RCA Composite and S-Video), the home cinema projector also offers a digital DVI-D connector, which allows the projector to be digitally connected to a DVD player.

Lastly, the zoom function can be manually adjusted for image optimisation while the illuminated remote control is simple to use.
