Emphasising its commitment to the South African gaming industry, Rectron has this year once again sponsored the South African leg of the Electronic Sports World Cup 2006, held from 27 to 30 April at the Carousel Casino and Entertainment World, north of Pretoria.
Sponsoring R70 000 towards the event, Rectron hopes that through its and other companies` commitment, the local gaming industry will continue to grow, becoming a true international force to be reckoned with.

The Rectron Electronic Sports World Cup will this year feature Counter Strike 1.6, Quake 4, WarCraft III - The Frozen Throne and Gran Turismo 4. Winners of the event will secure themselves a spot on a flight to France for the grand final.
The ESWC Final takes place from 28 June to 2 July 2006 at the Palais Omnisports in Paris and will see more than 53 countries represented with an estimated 40 000 spectators expected.
Furthermore, the Rectron Electronic Sports World Cup represents the inception of respective ranking systems that sees both Arena 77 and the Cyberleagues enabling players to secure their places on these systems.
