Rectron expands footprint, opens Bloemfontein office

Johannesburg, 20 May 2002

Rectron Holdings, one of SA`s fastest growing distribution companies, has opened a branch in Bloemfontein as part of its plan to expand its footprint in SA.

Rectron CEO, Mark Lu, said the move comes at a time when the market for computer products and peripheral equipment in the Free State is on the rise.

"We have experienced a definite increase in demand for our resellers in the Bloemfontein area and this has prompted Rectron to open a branch with warehousing and technical backup facilities to support our more than 1 000 channel partners in the Free State - from Welkom and Vryberg in the north, to Kimberley in the south," he says.

Heading the branch is manager Andre Liebenberg, who confirms the buoyancy of the Free State market. He says increasing emphasis is being placed on the small office and home office purchases.

"The home market, for gaming products in particular, is growing exponentially, fuelled by innovation in this arena from both hardware and software vendors," he adds.

Rectron has existing branches and warehouses in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg (head office). The company has plans to open a Port Elizabeth operation in June.
