JSE-listed IT distribution group Rectron has been appointed as the sole South African distributor for the full range of PC power supply products from Seventeam Electronics.
Taiwan-based Seventeam is a specialist in the power supply business and designs. It manufactures and sells encapsulated and open frame it AC/DC power supplies to a world-wide market. This company was established in 1986 and has ISO 9002 approved manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and China.
Mark Lu, CEO of Rectron, says power supplies have not traditionally received much attention in the buying cycle. As a result many end-users have experienced problems with poor quality, unstable PC power supply units.
He notes that Seventeam ranks as one of a handful of power supply manufacturers to have built up strong brand equity among dealers and OEMs in SA and the rest of the world because of the quality and reliability of its products.
"The Seventeam products have been extensively tested for use with products such as AMD`s Duron and Athlon processors, and complement our Gigabyte mainboard and Intel and AMD product ranges. Securing the Seventeam distribution rights is another step forward in our strategy to deliver a full spectrum of quality PC components and peripherals to our dealer base," says Lu.
