Computer components, PC and peripheral products distributor Rectron is poised to launch a training and certification programme with the local Intel subsidiary in a bid to increase the number of authorised Intel resellers and Intel product integrators (IPIs) in SA.
The move follows Rectron`s appointment as an Intel distributor earlier this year.
Rectron CEO, Mark Lu, says the training initiative will focus on component building with an emphasis on Intel product offerings.
Training will be classroom-based and will take place at Rectron`s new training and technology centre in Midrand.
"Our aim is to address the smaller reseller and product integrator market, which we see as a key growth segment in sub-Saharan Africa," says Lu. "It also represents a new channel for Intel products in the region."
Lu adds that Intel resellers trained by Rectron be regularly updated on technology advancements and channel marketing and sales strategies as they evolve.
