Replacing HP`s Photosmart 7550, Rectron has released the 7960 photo printer to the South African marketplace.
"The 7960 provides up to eight-ink colour printing for imaging quality similar to a specialist photo lab," says Zandr'e Rudolph, HP product manager at Rectron. "This is ideal for ad agencies, design studios and photographers who need photo lab quality together with the ability to produce their own prints."
The printer also features a 6.4cm colour display and controls for selecting, editing, previewing and printing without a Macintosh or PC.
Also, the PhotoSmart 7960 enables designers to turn images to mono, sepia or antique, and offers a library of frames.
Featuring HP`s Photoret Pro precision technology, the 7960 can print up to 72 million (printable) colours.
Other features include:
* A swappable black cartridge for laser-like black text with pigmented black ink;
* Fast printing for everyday documents - up to 21ppm black and 15ppm in colour;
* HP Photo and Imaging software including HP Memories Disc Creator;
* Support for Exif-Print, sRG and Adobe RGB; and
* Video Action Print, which creates a storyboard for video clips and print it out on a single page.
