Rectron introduces new Canon Bubble Jet range

Johannesburg, 02 Sep 2003

South African distributor, Rectron has introduced Canon`s latest additions to its Bubble Jet printer range, the i70 and i470D, to the local channel.

Immediately available, the Bubble Jet i70 is a compact - 40 percent smaller than its closest competitor - portable mono printer, which is ideal for today`s mobile workforce.

The i70 features a three-motor drive system, replay paper feed and bi-directional, single-pass printing that boost speed up to 13 ppm (pages per minute).

Says Adel'e Oosthuizen, business manager: PC attachments at Rectron: "Despite the Bubble Jet i70`s sleeker, re-imaged look it still offers performance that equals that of desktop printers more than twice its size."

Significantly, the i70 features a number of proprietary and industry standard software innovations such as Exif Print support via Easy-PhotoPrint, for PCs or ImageBrowser, for Macintosh, as well as Photo Optimiser PRO and Photo Noise Reduction for enhanced print quality.

Canon`s new Bubble Jeti470D enables direct printing from a compatible Canon digital camera or camcorder.

The i470D also has a built-in four-in-one card slot that supports CompactFlash card, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, SD card and xD card (xD card requires an adapter). Using the printer`s LCD control panel, users can choose what photos they want to print, the size and on what media.

"The Bubble Jeti470D features 4800 x 1200 dpi capability combined with advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology that enables the print of clear, crisp photos," she says.
