Rectron nets top distributor award

Computer components and peripherals distributor, Rectron, has been positioned second, behind telecommunications giant MTN, in the Top 10 ICTe Companies in SA.

This is according to the fourth edition of this prestigious publication, Top ICTe Companies in SA, published by the Corporate Research Foundation (CRF) which presented awards to the winners in recognition of their leadership positions within the ICTe sector in SA.

In accepting his award at a recent function in Johannesburg, Rectron CEO Mark Lu expressed his delight with his company`s achievement and paid tribute to the staff who have worked tirelessly to establish and cement Rectron`s position.

"Rectron`s philosophy is one of continual re-evaluation and appraisal of our own activities in an on-going effort to meet - and exceed - the needs of our customers while monitoring the movement and trends in the fast-paced ICTe arena," he said.

According to a statement by the CRF`s Arthur Goldstuck, the award-winning companies "have prepared for tomorrow not by trying to second-guess the future, but by ensuring an unshakable foundation is built for it today".

Top ICTe Companies in South Africa: 2005/6 is endorsed by the following South African federations:

Cape Information Technology Initiative (CITI)
Computing Technology Industry Association (Comptia)
Computer Society of South Africa (CSSA)
Electronics Industries Federation
Institute of People Management (IPM)

The Minister of Science and Technology, Mosibudi Mangena wrote the preface to the publication.

The Top Ten award winners were selected by a team of academics, journalists, business professionals and associations.

CRF is an independent international organisation that initiates, co-ordinates and delivers international business research projects worldwide. CRF originated in the Netherlands in 1992 and today has offices in six countries on three continents. The South African CRF office has been operating since 1997.
