As part of South African distributor Rectron`s commitment to the local community, the company has pledged its support to the u Meph'e charity, an organisation that works towards providing shelter and a better life for abandoned babies.
Already Rectron has donated a total of R126 000 towards the set-up of havens in Bloemfontein, Kuilsrivier in the Western Cape and Kingsborough in KwaZulu-Natal.
These funds have specifically gone towards buying baby bottles, nappies, beds and various other important items that are critical in running a haven for abandoned babies.
"Without Rectron`s help it would not have been possible for us to set-up our havens - we are extremely grateful for their support that has enabled us to provide shelter and food for those abandoned babies that are in desperate need of a safe, warm and loving home," comments Elena Jackson, deputy director of the AGS council which runs the u Meph'e programme.
Adds Reon Coetzee, marketing manager at Rectron: "It is always heart-warming to know that, in some small way, we can make a true difference. The statistics are shocking which is why we felt that in supporting an organisation such u Meph'e we can help fight this massive social problem."
Rectron will continue to support u Meph'e throughout the organisation`s various charitable projects across the country.
