One of South Africa`s largest computer products distributors, JSE-listed Rectron Holdings, has received the prestigious Microsoft Systems Builder of the Year award.
The award, presented by Microsoft Corp`s visiting senior VP Joachim Kempin to Rectron CEO Mark Lu, marks Rectron`s achievement in improving its Microsoft product sales by more than 1000% last year, covering Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 2000, hardware and application software.
In receiving the award, Lu said it represented a great achievement for Rectron and demonstrated the company`s commitment to the Microsoft brand: "Working with Microsoft has been a real inspiration for our technical and sales staff - most of whom are Microsoft trained and certified- and has provided a significant boost to our marketing efforts," he said.
"It is inspiring that Microsoft technology is received so broadly in the marketplace giving our channel partners some of the world`s best technology to work with," he added.
