Red Bend branches into mobile virtualisation

CRN reports.

Mobile virtualisation is attracting more attention as companies grapple with the and management implications of the bring your own device (BYOD) trend.

Red Bend's vLogix Mobile 5.0 product, launched last week, addresses these issues by enabling two operating systems to run simultaneously on a mobile device using virtualisation.

Integration Developer News says vLogix Mobile 5.0 extends legacy software to mobile devices without the need to redesign, redevelop and revalidate existing software to support new OS configurations, according to Red Bend CEO Yoram Salinger.

Red Bend already works with every leading device manufacturer, semiconductor vendor and mobile operator, and has mobile technologies in some one billion mobile devices, according to the company.

Red Bend's vLogix Mobile 5.0 (formerly VLX) is built on the VLX Type-1 mobile hypervisor from VirtualLogix, which was acquired by Red Bend in September 2010.
