Red Vision to build 3D studio

Red Vision, a Manchester-based film and graphics production company, is to build a 3D TV studio, says Manchester Evening News.

The investment by Red Vision and others, including the Northwest Regional Development Agency, will create around 26 jobs during 2011 when the studio opens for business.

In April, Red Vision announced it would make all of its 30 permanent production staff redundant in a move which chief executive Dave Mousley said was an inevitable result of the nationwide lull in commissioning new work.

Logitech unveils Google TV devices

Logitech has unveiled a line of gadgets for Google TV, at a New York City press event, reports Tech News Daily.

Company executives say they are confident the devices - which include a keyboard, HD video camera, and smartphone app - will facilitate seamless interaction with the innovative soon-to-be-released TV platform.

The event was kicked off by Logitech's executive VP of products, Junien Labrousse, who explained that Google TV - a platform that will run on the Chrome browser and integrate broadcast television, Internet, apps, and games into one unified interface - will create a “seamless engagement between the human and the content”.

AVerMedia debuts HD DVR

AVerMedia Technologies, a provider of multimedia technology, has released the AVerTV Express HD DVR, writes Sys-Con Media.

This compact and portable Express HD Capture card, with its 34mm or 54mm (with included stabiliser) form factor, turns a laptop into a portable personal video recorder, giving the user the ability to watch, capture and record high-definition video content directly to a laptop via component inputs, the company says.

The product also allows for game console and cable/satellite connectivity, comes with its own software and is compatible with Windows 7.
