Think of inkjet printing and the first thing that comes to mind is how quickly one needs to replace the ink and how expensive new cartridges are, not to mention the generally mediocre speed of these printers.
The HP Business Inkjet 1100 series of inkjet printers breaks this perceived mould by offering cost-effective printing, designed for high-productivity individuals or small workgroups.
"The 1100 boasts a host of cost-saving features, including a low purchase price, automatic duplex printing for reduced paper use and four individual ink cartridges," says Drikus Van Der Walt, HP IPG product manager at Tarsus Technologies.
"The printer holds a 69ml black ink cartridge and three 28ml colour cartridges. Splitting the colours allows users to replace them less often and then only pay for the colours they use. In most offices this works out to a large cost saving as red ink, for example, tends to be used quicker than any other colour and can now be replaced separately."
Producing draft copies at speeds of up to 23 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 20ppm in colour (up to 7.5ppm in black and 7ppm in colour in normal mode), small offices can rely on the HP 1100 for all their printing needs.
HP has not forgotten users requiring high-quality colour prints. The 1100 offers up to 4800-optimised dpi colour printing on premium photo paper (from 1200 x 1200 input dpi). Additionally, by using an LIO networking card (sold separately for the 1100d, and standard with the 1100dtn), up to five users can easily share the printer.
"To make operating of the printer as simple as possible for users, easy-to-understand LED display messages ensure management and troubleshooting of the 1100 is a breeze," adds Van der Walt. "The 250-sheet paper tray, expandable to 400 sheets, means less time wasted restocking paper as well as the ability to handle large jobs without user intervention."
A monthly duty cycle of 6250 pages makes the HP 1100 a perfect fit for small workgroups and individuals with high printing needs. Available from Tarsus now, the HP Business Inkjet 1100 provides a stable, reliable printing platform at reasonable cost.
