Remedy, the international enterprise solutions provider, is looking at Johannesburg as the gateway to increase its business in the African region. The company will focus on partnerships to continue providing eCRM solutions and e-business infrastructure.
The company`s core business is to provide adaptable enterprise applications for IT service management, customer relationship management (CRM) and employee workplace automation. According to Remedy, these applications can be modified, or new applications developed with little or no programming, in order to match the evolving requirements of each customer.
Remedy opened a local office six months ago. The company, says Chris Hill, head of corporate communications for Europe, Middle East and Africa, offers the "best of both worlds" for organisations having to choose between fresh, multi-million dollar start-ups with leading-edge technology or those with a proven product offering and brand name.
Remedy`s product offering includes eCRM applications such as Remedy Help Desk, Help Desk Express and Strategic Service Suite, as well as e-business solutions like Remedy Asset Management and Change Management.
The company distributes its products through a worldwide network of over 200 original equipment manufacturers, value-added resellers and systems integrators.
Remedy has local partnerships with companies like PQ Telesystems, AST and End-to-End Logistics.
According to Hill, the company will continue to make acquisitions and focus on partnerships in order to strengthen its position in the enterprise solution market. He notes that the company is dominant in the telecommunications arena and this is largely because of partnerships.
Bryan Richter, territory manager for Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa, says other key focus areas include multi-level applications and those with a strong customer service support element.
Hill says the company will officially launch its CRM products in June.
Commenting on the revenue growth experienced by the company in the first fiscal quarter, chairman and CEO Larry Garlick says: "Our growth was fuelled by the expansion of the new Internet economy, the adoption of customer-centric business models, and the enterprise successes throughout our large installed base of 8 800 customer sites."
Remedy aims to strengthen its prospects in Africa and sees SA as a key region. The company has existing clients in Nigeria, Egypt and Kenya.
