Resolution Software aims for 45% revenue surge

Johannesburg, 05 Oct 2000

Resolution , the premier partner in SA for enterprise solutions provider, Great Plains - and a member of the MB Worksoft group - is projecting a 45% increase in revenue during the next twelve months following the release of Great Plains version 6.0, the company`s flagship product offering.

This is according to Resolution Software`s marketing director, Paul Brito, who said the company has officially launched version 6.0 at this year`s inaugural Comdex exhibition, currently on at Gallagher Estate.

"Great Plains version 6.0 is a quantum leap in performance, enabling us to move straight from a back office accounting system to a full-spectrum business solution, complete with a fully integrated back and front office. This encompasses new and important front office weaponry such as CRM, supply chain management and e-commerce capabilities."

Brito said overall features and functionality have been greatly enhanced, including a "much tighter integration with Microsoft`s suite of Web-enabling products". He said Version 6.0, because it better-utilises Microsoft`s web-enabling tools, operates in a truly fault tolerant on-line environment. "The integration is so smooth that if a client`s back office server goes down none of the web transactions are lost - they are automatically batched and once the connection is re-established, the `saved` transactions are posted.

This is, we believe, a first in the enterprise-wide information solutions market.

Great Plains, through its Dynamics and eEnterprise product platform, offers an open, scalable, business management system designed to give a business an unlimited growth path.

While there are a host of benefits, including financial, distriubiton, manufacturing, human resources and payroll, management, project accounting, fixed and job costing, version 6.0 adds "a new dimension", according to Brito.

"What the new Great Plains does, is automate the entire enterprise digitally - essentially fusing every business process a client might be harnessing."

Resolution Software - recently announced as the most outstanding Great Plains partner for the Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Central European regions - believes the "bad old days" of ERP (enterprise resource planning) are long gone. "In the digital age enterprise-wide solutions need to be fast-tracked. A company cannot wait three years for a mission-critical enterprise solution to be installed. It would be disastrous.

"There are a host of additional features and functionality that take this version into what is essentially a new e-business dimension, including features such as eSell, eTimesheets, eEmployee and eRequisition."

An employee, for instance, is able to access the human resources system via the company network, or remotely, and interrogate the system. He or she can digitally present a human resources query, or problem, and receive almost instantaneous feedback - or can use this feature for more mundane requirements, such as automatically finding out how many days of leave have accrued to date. Whatever the business request or transaction might be - even if it is conducted with a client or supplier - the process is seamlessly concluded and logged."

With a current client base of about 80, Resolution Software anticipates growing this by a further 20 within the next 12 months, thanks largely to the "increased business allure" offered by Great Plains Version 6.0. "The launch of version 6.0 has placed us in a new, unparallelled growth cycle," he emphasised.

The company is also a Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider.
