On the back of phenomenal growth in 2003, local mobile company Leaf Wireless has restructured its top management in order to take full advantage of future and potential growth.
The company has made three key appointments in the restructure, firstly Brandon Leigh, founder and formerly MD, will assume the role of CEO where his core focus will cover strategy and vision for the company going forward, as well as international expansion and new business opportunities.
Quinton Leigh, formerly sales and marketing director, now takes up the position of managing director at the company. Leigh`s main objective will ensure the smooth running of the local company as well as operational and management issues within the organisation. The position will also extend to ensuring that both local and international clients are being looked after in accordance to the company`s stated intention.
A new appointment comes in the way of Bruce Cockburn, who was previously with MTN, which he joined to set up the electronic distribution of prepaid airtime. Once successfully completed, Cockburn was appointed as General Manager, Products & Innovation, including the management of electronic distribution, CRM and loyalty. Notable achievements included the development and success of MTN`s mobile portal MTN ICE, and the launch of GPRS. At Leaf, Cockburn will take over the position of sales and marketing executive and over and above client relations, and will be tasked with identifying new business opportunities for the company as well as potential product development.
According to Leigh: "Leaf is on the verge of a host of new and exciting things. We have secured international contracts such as the one we signed last year with Australia`s Virgin Mobile and we are starting to take a large chunk of the local market share.
"It is with this that we have had to ensure that as a company we are ourselves in a position to embrace this growth and ensure the continued commitment from our customers. The FNB InContact solution is also one of many of the successful projects we have been running and it is on the back of the success of projects like these that we feel the sky is the limit in terms of our future growth."
