Retail BI solution showcased

BIRetail was showcased at RetechCon 2009 in a significant attempt to address the Indian retail market, says PR.com.

BIRetail had a dedicated booth at the event, facilitating a direct showcase to an audience seeking newer technology solutions.

BIRetail Ltd, headquartered in London, UK, offers BIRetail, a pure play enterprise business intelligence solution for the retail industry.

SAP is beefing up its Web-enabled demand forecasting technology with the acquisition of SAF, reports Internet Retailer.

“For SAP, the retail and wholesale industries are an important market with significant growth potential,” SAP says.

“Companies in these industries increasingly prefer software that offers standardised and integrated business processes from corporate headquarters to the warehouse to the store level,” SAP adds.

Onboard Retail Solutions has signed an agreement to supply SAS Group's point-of-sale (POS) technology for its in-flight retail operations through its partnership with Inflight Service Europe (IFS), states DFNI Online.

The company has been working with IFS since 2005 and supplies in-flight POS systems for Air Finland, Malm"o Aviation, Novair, Primera and TUIfly Nordic.

For SAS Group, IFS will use Onboard Retail Solutions' latest technology based on the BIP-1300 POS device, which will incorporate credit card and chip and pin technology.
