JSE-listed Reunert expects to post basic earnings per share (EPS) and headline EPS (HEPS) of between R2.88 and R3.04 when it releases its financial results for the six months ended 31 March.

This is a significant increase off its EPS and HEPS loss of 43.7c and 66.5c, respectively, in the previous interim period.

However, the company notes the loss in the 2007 interim period was due to the once-off costs of that year`s black economic empowerment (BEE) deal.

As a result, it advises that normalised HEPS - which excludes the cost of the BEE deal and other income and charges of a non-trading nature - will be between 5% and 10% higher year-on-year.

Reurnert`s share price lost just over 1% to close yesterday at R56.99.
