Reuters moves HR and payroll to cloud

and news company, has moved its human resources and payroll data to a cloud computing environment, reports CIO.

The company, which has more than 55 000 employees in over 100 countries, with a UK base at London's Canary Wharf, is using Workday's software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings for human capital management and payroll. It had originally considered upgrading its existing HR system.

According to Computer World, Workday updated its SaaS platform with the release of Workday 14, which features embedded intelligence designed to provide contextual information for business processes.

Workday 14 has in-memory data management that allows managers to view relevant information all in one place instead of hunting around for contextual data.

The world famous news agency signed up for both Human Resources (HR) and payroll data services from US-based firm Workday, says Cloud Pro.

“We required a that would work alongside Thomson Reuters to meet the talent goals we've established for our diverse global organisation,” says Sue Laskey-Myers, senior VP of global HR solutions and service delivery at Thomson Reuters.

“Workday has demonstrated they will be that partner, and together we can fulfil our vision of delivering a game-changing HR and payroll system to employees across the world.”
