Revolution and innovation top the bill

Johannesburg, 10 Feb 2005

Three top researchers from Computer Sciences Corporation will talk about the leading-edge trends in flexible systems architecture, harnessing innovation for corporate success and managing user responsibility at a Cape Town conference on 28 February.

Bill Koff, vice-president of CSC`s Leading Edge Forum, and CSC`s Research and Advisory Services` researchers Lynette Ferrara and Doug Neal are among the six international speakers taking part in CSC`s annual Beyond the Bleeding Edge conference. All conference papers focus on illustrating where vision, technology and leadership converge.

Koff`s talk, `The Architecture rEvolution`, shares a compelling vision of a future where architectures have to be flexible, yet robust. He will explore the more significant network effects on infrastructure, applications and business processes. He will also address the rEvolutionary architecture solutions that are emerging in this space.

In `Stimulating Innovation in Challenging Times` Ferrara will share the results of two years` research into advanced practices relating to the stimulation and management of innovation. There are not many organisations where innovation is not a top priority among CEOs who expect CIOs to help improve the organisation`s innovation performance. Ferrara will explore what makes an innovative organisation.

Doug Neal, in `The Consumer Invades the Glass House - Advice to the CIO`, discusses how the consumerisation of technology has greatly increased the knowledge and capability of employees and the steps that leading IT organisations take to segment their user base, fill in the gaps in employee education and build user responsibility.
