Ricoh unveils eWriter solution
Digital office vendor Ricoh has introduced its new eWriter Solution, a business-class tablet and back-end services designed to improve business efficiencies by moving paper processes online, which will be sold only through channel partners, reports e-Channel Line.
The company also unveiled a new business unit, Ricoh eWriter Solutions (EWS), which will manage the new solution.
According to ZDNet, The eWriter package is essentially a tablet - the eQuill - that acts as a digital clipboard as a front-end to workflow tools. In a nutshell, the eQuill mimics paper and recreates forms one would usually sign and fax, scan or send.
Ricoh is targeting healthcare, insurance, police departments and other key verticals. The eQuill will run less than $500.
Meanwhile, CRN reveals that Ricoh is delivering eWriter Workflow Services from its own cloud, but later this year will offer a hosted version for companies that require this option.
To sell eQuill, partners must have workflow and document management experience, and at least one programmer with C# or PHP development skills, Ron Barr, VP of marketing at Ricoh said.
Ricoh also plans to sell eWriter Workflow Services directly to business and enterprise customers.
