IDC affirms RightFAX as worldwide fax server market leader AmVia - Voicematix, exclusive value-added distributor of RightFAX in Southern Africa, has announced that prominent IDC analyst Peter Davidson named AVT`s RightFAX as the dominant fax server brand, in a research report published February 27, 2001. The IDC pegs AVT RightFAX e-document delivery solution market share at 24.3% - triple the share of the nearest competitor.
In the IDC report, entitled "World-wide Computer-Based Facsimile Market Analysis and Forecast, 2000-2005," Davidson stated, "AVT RightFAX continues to consolidate its lead in the fax server marketplace, with a 24.3 percent share of 2000 shipment value -- more than three times the share of second-largest vendor." Overall the IDC states that the fax market will increase at a 58% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2005.
"As one of the top 3 distributors of RightFAX world-wide, this report confirms our commitment in the pursuit supplying best of breed technology," said Kevin Hurwitz, AmVia`s Mission Controller. "AmVia`s market share in Southern Africa supersedes the world-wide market percentage. As the demand for e-document delivery continues to grow, RightFAX 7.2 is positioned to take an even greater market share."
Supporting this claim, the IDC report points out that the dynamics of fax server sales are changing. "The strongest growth can be seen in the business of fax-enabling applications, also known as production (ERP) fax. In addition, using fax servers to electronically receive faxes in existing e-mailboxes is rapidly gaining interest." AVT was the first company to introduce a data recognition capability, called the Filter for Production, in 1993. Similar functions from competing systems have only recently hit the market.
