RIM deploys MDaemon server

MDaemon Messaging Server is a popular Windows-based messaging server for small and medium enterprises, and this new version brings many of RIM's synchronisation, security, IT policy management and control features to MDaemon users.

TMC Net reports Arvel Hathcock, founder and CEO of Alt-N Technologies, saying: “MDaemon Messaging Server, BlackBerry Edition is an all-in-one messaging and wireless server that is easy to set up, easy to use, secure, and very affordable.

“It's ideal for both new and established businesses that want the benefits of more advanced smartphone features, controls, security and management.”

According to eWeek, the MDaemon Messaging Server, BlackBerry Edition is an all-in-one e-mail and messaging solution that makes possible for mid-market businesses to provide their employees with secure access to e-mail, calendar and contacts from nearly anywhere via the desktop, the Web or BlackBerry smartphones.

It can be installed on a server running Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows Vista or Windows 2003, or on a desktop computer running Windows XP.
