RIM unveils BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled its BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, free server software that wirelessly synchronises BlackBerry smartphones with Microsoft Exchange or Windows Small Business Server, reports Market Watch.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express software is free, to address small and medium enterprises that desire enterprise-grade security and manageability of BlackBerry Enterprise Server but don't require all of its advanced features.
"Today we are announcing an exciting new offering that further expands the market opportunity for the BlackBerry platform," says Mike Lazaridis, president and co-CEO at RIM.
Metastorm releases ProVision suite
Metastorm released version 6.2 of its Metastorm ProVision enterprise modelling, business architecture, and business process analysis software suite, including updates to Metastorm's Web-based modelling repository, states ThomasNet News.
Metastorm ProVision provides its customers with technology for enterprise and business architecture. The software enables organisations to model and visualise the entire enterprise, resulting in a thorough understanding of the cause-effect relationships between business strategy, business processes, and the systems and technology that support them.
"Metastorm ProVision serves as a critical platform for planning and rolling out new applications and services at Salt River Project," says Susan Smith, manager of business process solutions.
D2 Technologies intros mCUE
D2 Technologies has introduced its updated mCUE software, which helps OEMs and service providers deliver the communications capabilities for Android-based products, notes TMCnet.
mCUE offers feature upgrades including Skype interoperability, video call/chat, seamless call handover, cross-service conferencing and HD voice. mCUE has been optimised to enable converged IP communications on new applications including digital TV, IPSTB, networks media player and IP media frame/phone applications.
“Consumers are eager to use more devices than mobile handsets that offer the flexibility and feature richness of the Android platform,” says Doug Makishima, chief operating officer at D2 Technologies.
