Risk management, security solutions company joins The Innovation Hub

By The Innovation Hub
Johannesburg, 07 Feb 2006

Online Intelligence, a new tenant at The Innovation Hub that develops Web-based applications for security and risk management at all levels, has shown exceptional growth since inception in 2001.

Its multi-user software applications transform collected risk and security-related information into structured intelligence that enables visualisation, analysis and management of data on all functional and managerial levels of the security, investigative, analysis and risk management environments.

Clients range from mining and telecommunications companies, to companies within the banking industry. According to Technical Director, Dewald Vorster, the company's rate of growth has spurred the extended use of its applications to beyond the security and risk management industries.

Online Intelligence develops all its applications in-house. Its flagship product is the Online Risk Manager - an integrated application package which allows the user to reveal and identify modus operandi, networks and trends. The product consists of modules for data warehousing, incident and investigation management, search and analysis, and graphical management information to include Web site development.

The Online Contract Manager, a unique system that facilitates the drafting and managing of legal agreements, transforms the drafting of contractual agreements into a paperless process, creating a single portal from where these agreements can be managed.

Constant innovation is the driving force behind the company's success and according to Vorster, was reason enough for Online Intelligence to make the Hub its new home. "A community like this is a real plus in our environment. The technical innovations going on here, as well as being in an environment where the companies are able to talk to each other and exchange ideas, really fits in with what we do," he said.

A recent client is the Hub's own security service provider, Thorburn Security Solutions - an example of the benefits from participating in the Hub's networked community.

Plans are under way to establish a service bureau, where Online Intelligence will host the applications on behalf of clients and managing their data. It is also looking at providing training in intelligence management as well as data analysis, using its products as a basis.
