Roan Systems expands StarPOS galaxy

Johannesburg, 21 Oct 2011

Local IT specialist, Roan Systems, has been appointed as Authorised Service Provider for Star POS Printers and J2 Screens for StarPOS South Africa.

The new alliance bodes well for both StarPOS users and the brand itself, expanding the company's footprint throughout southern African and into Africa. “We are extremely enthusiastic about working with Roan Systems,” says StarPOS Managing Director, Ernie Boardman.

“Roan's widespread branches will assist in distribution, along with backup and service. As a division of an industry leader such as Trenstar, we are confident that they are the right company to partner with.”

The comprehensive range of printers, touch-screens and touch-screen terminals is used extensively in the retail and hospitality industries, along with high-volume applications such as parkades, tollbooths and Lotto kiosks. Additional items include cash drawers, bar code scanners, customer displays, as well as accessories, consumables and spare parts for these products.

“Lotto has 8 000 of our systems in operation, which amounts to a lot of printing,” smiles Ernie. “Downtime is simply not an option.”

Roan Systems' Chief Commercial Officer, Frikkie Koegelenberg, echoes Ernie's enthusiasm: “StarPOS is second only to Epson in terms of POS printers, and when it comes to touch-screen, they're in a league of their own,” he says. “This is precisely the quality of product we're geared to handle.”

Roan has already tested its mettle with a vast range of leading brands of printers and related IT solutions, including Printronix, Motorola, Zebra, Intermec, Lexmark and Motorola, among others. “This is what we do best. We have no doubt it will prove to be a match made in heaven,” concludes Frikkie.
