Following its successful launch in SA six months ago, Rocketseed has opened a European Union (EU) head office in London, with additional offices in Ireland and France.
Rocketseed, a joint venture between Cape Town-based Latitude Blue and JSE Securities Exchange-listed Global Technology, is a software product that hitches branded and customised HTML marketing messages onto legitimate corporate e-mail.
It converts unused spaces in corporate e-mail - the electronic equivalent of corporate correspondence on blank paper - into relevant branded marketing messages.
Cameron Hulett, Rocketseed MD, says: "The success of Rocketseed in garnering blue-chip SA clients - despite the current economic climate and general corporate caution in terms of IT purchases - has illustrated the huge potential this unique digital marketing platform possesses."
He adds: "Obviously the UK and European markets exist on a scale which dwarfs the SA environment, so even if the projected low-road outcome is realised, the potential rewards will be extensive."
Neil Murray, Global Technology Services director, will head the new operation from London. Murray will be tasked with growing the Rocketseed presence throughout the European Union, as well as launching it into the US market.
Murray concludes: "Just entering this market is going to require an enormous leap so one step at a time is the watchword."
