Ron Zambonini, Cognos president and CEO, will attend Enterprise 2001 SA, to be held in Johannesburg on 14 November.
The Cognos International User`s Group is a world-wide organisation for Cognos users, aimed at promoting the sharing of experiences, insight and knowledge about Cognos software for the professional enrichment of its members.
Zambonini joined Cognos in 1989 as vice president of research and development, and was promoted to senior vice president of that division within a year. In January 1993 he accepted the positions of president and chief operating officer and became the company`s most senior executive when promoted to president and CEO in September 1995.
"Whatever a user`s challenges or opportunities, Enterprise 2001 offers powerful ways to get the information and insight needed to thrive in an uncertain economic environment," says Zambonini.
"For User Group members there are many rewards, for novices and experienced users alike - users attending Enterprise 2001 SA will have the added benefit of listening to one of the world`s key opinion leaders within the BI arena," comments Peter Gerson, MD of Cognos SA. "How much advantage is gained from membership, is up to the user.
"User Group events are meetings of like minds," he continues. "To share information and keep abreast of current and future developments in Cognos technology, find out how other companies are using Cognos products, what problems they have faced and how they have overcome them."
He says attendees can expect to hear the latest on new Cognos products, services and training, tips and techniques, software compatibility and troubleshooting. "There will be four streams running concurrently, where users can choose from product updates, technical, case studies or business. The SA User Group can deal with these and other issues that users might not have the time or resources to tackle on their own.
"Companies wishing to present at Enterprise 2001 should submit white papers. Submissions will be evaluated on breadth of appeal, relevance to track, level of detail and technical accuracy," concludes Gerson.
