SecureData, a member of the JSE-listed ERP.com Group and the distributor for RSA Security products in Sub-Saharan Africa, today announced that the latter's RSA Access Manager software is positioned in the Leaders Quadrant within Gartner's 2H2006 Magic Quadrant for Web Access Management.
This designation was based on RSA's completeness of vision and ability to execute, and appears in the October 2006 report by Ray Wagner entitled "Magic Quadrant for Web Access Management, 2H06".
Web access management (WAM) solutions, such as RSA Access Manager, are a critical piece of an overarching, information-centric security strategy. The technology enables enterprises to ensure that only properly authenticated users are able to access their private information and execute authorised transactions.
In addition, WAM solutions help organisations to cost-effectively provide secure access to Web applications within increasingly sophisticated customer and partner facing portals, intranets, extranets and exchange infrastructures.
"As organisations move greater amounts of sensitive data online and further rely on the Web as a core platform for business, effective access management becomes a fundamental enterprise security requirement. To that end, enterprises around the world continue to select the RSA Access Manager solution to deliver business results through a scalable, secure Web infrastructure," commented Toffer Winslow, vice-president of product management and marketing at RSA.
"We're proud that the report from Gartner recognises RSA in the Leaders quadrant in this market and further validates our strategic vision and strong execution capabilities."
Customer success with RSA Access Manager
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City uses RSA Access Manager to help protect its self-service Web portal for members, healthcare providers and brokers from unauthorised access.
"Nearly 1 100 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City employees and almost 900 000 members access our Web site or intranet on a regular basis, so we needed a solution that makes sure that confidential information is locked down, but is also easy to use by a large number of people," added Kevin Sparks, chief information officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. "In our opinion, RSA's ability to execute is unsurpassed in the marketplace. RSA Access Manager gives us a secure infrastructure that allows us to securely manage our online user population as well as promote compliance and keep costs down. It also helps us protect our most sensitive assets -- our customers' private health data."
Credit Union Central of Ontario, in Mississauga, Ontario, provides operational and financial services to 170 credit unions in Canada and uses RSA Access Manager software to manage how 3 500 people access its customer service site.
"Credit Union of Central Ontario has been working with RSA Access Manager for more than five years, and we are extremely satisfied," continued Paul Martinello, director, Web Services and Systems Development at Credit Union of Central Ontario.
"RSA Access Manager technology has allowed us to keep up with the expanded use of our portal, and is one of our key security building blocks. It helps our users increase their efficiency while assuring them that proprietary information remains private."
